Job description
Summary:
The Product Development Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the development of new products from concept to creation. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong sense of design and crafting knowledge/understanding. In addition, drive, detail orientation, flexibility are also key attributes to consider when stepping into this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Describe the job's essential duties and responsibilities using clear, declarative statements in priority order.
Responsibility
Collaborates with the Product Development Coordinator to understand and interpret product concepts.
Develops poly, cushions, and cutting patterns with precision and efficiency.
Makes and maintains product specifications for each new style.
Works with outside vendors to coordinate product materials for new styles and one-time customs.
Conduct thorough quality assessment at each stage of the development process to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications.
Stays abreast of industry trends, materials, and techniques to continually enhance product quality and innovation.
Works closely with each department to ensure seamless execution of the product.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
Provide technical guidance and support to production teams to resolve any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.
Job requirements
Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills:
Must be able to work thoughtfully and thoroughly with continuous attention to detail
Must be able to read and interpret CAD drawings.
The ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for up to eight hours or more daily
Ability to learn quickly and retain a wide range of small details concerning multiple product types, tasks, system processes, issues, and/or projects
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Comfortable multi-tasking, or, pivoting between tasks as the need arises
Willingness to learn new products, procedures, and processes as business needs change
A friendly attitude with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and be a team player and stay self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers
Experience/Certifications/Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have 3 - 5 years of experience with High-end Upholstered Furniture Pattern making.

None
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily.
Requires lifting 0-25 lbs continuously, 25-50 lbs occasionally.
