Position Summary

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the exceptional cleanliness, organization, and safety of the high-end, luxury home furniture upholstery factory. This role ensures that all production areas, offices, and common spaces reflect the high-quality standards of our brand, contributing to a professional and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Factory Cleaning: Perform detailed cleaning and sanitization of production floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, with a focus on dust and debris removal to protect high-quality materials.

Common Area Maintenance: Disinfect, clean and restock restrooms, break rooms, and kitchens, including shared refrigerators and microwaves weekly. Ensure the cleanliness and functionality of work areas, restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.

Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and manufacturing waste in designated containers. Ensure proper handling of materials and adherence to safety protocols.

Office & Administrative Spaces: At least once a week, vacuum all office areas including upstairs and customer service area, disinfect and clean restrooms including floors,  break room, disinfect and clean all shared microwaves and refrigerators, empty all trash, wipe surfaces for dust,  ensure front office Lobby is checked and maintained daily for cleanliness.

Safety & Facility Support: Monitor and report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or needed repairs to management. Uphold and enforce safety protocols to create a secure work environment.

Job requirements

Experience / Certifications / Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Proven experience in a custodial or janitorial role, preferably in a manufacturing, high-end, or luxury environment.

  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, proper disposal methods, and safety procedures.

  • Must have completed the following training Bloodborne Pathogen, Hazard Communication, SDS and PPE per OSHA safety protocols.  Recertification can be provided by Tomlinson Directional LLC.  

  • Must pass criminal background check and drug testing.

  • A strong work ethic and friendly attitude, with the ability to be a team player, and stay self-motivated.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
