Job description
Position Summary:
The woodworker shop operator and frame builder is responsible for operating and maintaining various woodworking machines like saws, sanders, and drill presses to cut, shape wood components according to specifications, ensuring quality and safety standards from patterns. Combining the ability of woodworking skills to assemble furniture frames following detailed specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to read production tickets and any special instructions
Utilize tools and machines such as tape measures, large staple guns, screwdrivers, grinders, bandsaws, drills, and levels
Must be able to ensure all specifications are met for the order
This position requires manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and attention to detail to meet high-quality standards.
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily.
Requires lifting 0-25 lbs. continuously, 25-50 lbs. occasionally
Job requirements
Experience/Certifications/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience with furniture manufacturing
Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills:
Must be able to work thoughtfully and thoroughly with continuous attention to detail
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop and bend for 8 or more hours daily
Ability to learn quickly and retain a wide range of small details concerning multiple product types, tasks, system processes, issues, and/or projects
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Comfortable multi-tasking, or, pivoting between tasks as the need arises
Willingness to learn new products, procedures, and processes as business needs change
A friendly attitude with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and be a team player and stay self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
Forklift experience preferred
