Job description

Position Summary:

The Inspector is responsible for inspecting the final product before it is packed, looking for defects and deviations from specifications. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to read complex  production tickets and any special instructions

  • Utilize tools such as scissors, fabric steamers and cleaning products

  • Ability to work at a productive pace with no errors

  • Understanding of fabric layout-COM, Center cut, flow match, plain cover

  • Must be knowledgeable in upholstery methods and be able to complete quality control specifications.

  • This position requires manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and attention to detail to meet high quality standards.

Job requirements

Experience/Certifications/Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • The ability to stand, walk and move for up to eight hours per day

  • Previous experience with upholstery inspection and furniture manufacturing

Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills:

  • Must be able to work thoughtfully and thoroughly with continuous attention to detail

  • Ability to learn quickly and retain a wide range of small details concerning multiple product types, tasks, system processes, issues, and/or projects

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Comfortable multi-tasking, or, pivoting between tasks as the need arises

  • Willingness to learn new products, procedures, and processes as business needs change

  • A friendly attitude with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and be a team player and stay self-motivated in a fast-paced environment

  • Intermediate knowledge of computer skills and Google Suite products

  • Excellent written, verbal and email etiquette communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, stoop and bend for 8 hours or more daily

  • Must be able to move around the production floor to complete finishing tasks

  • Must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch to complete finishing tasks at at low level

  • Must be able to carry and/or lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must have the ability to observe details of finished product at a close range

  • Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others can understand.  Must be able to exchange accurate information.
