Position Summary:

High-End Furniture Manufacturer

An Upholstery Cutter is responsible for manually cutting the pieces of fabric using scissors or a cutting knife (or both). The Cutter cuts the fabric using a pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precisely cuts high-end fabrics to specifications, ensuring seamless pattern matching using flow cutting techniques

  • Adapts patterns for custom pieces

  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace

  • Collaborates with the production team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality products

  • Conducts quality checks on cut fabrics to minimize waste and errors

  • Understands fabric layout, including COM, center cut, flow match, and plain cover

Job requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 0-25 lbs continuously and 25-50 lbs occasionally

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily

  • Manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous experience with upholstery or furniture manufacturing with a minimum of 5 years experience in high-end fabric cutting
